A massive, infact the biggest voting event in the world: more than 800 million Indians are going to the polls over six weeks to elect a new government. Political rallies are underway in India. Even the BBC WORLD NEWS has for the first time decided to set up camp in India to cover elections in the largest democracy in the world. Point being “its-a-big-deal” for India and for other nations as well  in case you dint know already.

Lets not waste our time by getting me started with the  money spending, marketing gimmicks, political blabber and the big waste of time in name of “national debate” on prime time everyday. May be I’m being a little harsh but then the reality is, after the social media explosion about political interviews, scandal reports and leaked videos I’m frankly exhausted debating with my friends who is the ideal choice for my nation and for my neighborhood.

If you are a first time voter in India

Congratulations! #soproudofyou

If you are voting for the second time or even if you are Mr. Shyam Negi I have only one thing to say to you “READ THE MANIFESTOS BEFORE YOU VOTE!”

Lets limit word-of-mouth to our daily consumer products and  dig deeper to take one unbiased look at election manifestos released by these political fronts.

“It is not the function of our government to keep the citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to keep the government from falling into error.”
– Justice Robert H. Jackson
